From a small business now serving the local and regional markets
Out of concern that a lot of fruits were going to waste, Towera Jalakasi started a small enterprise collecting baobab fruits from a small family farm in Neno and manually processing baobab into juice (100 liters per month) as a sole proprietor. As demand grew, additional family members came in and the company was incorporated in March 2013 as Naturals Limited.
- Now the business commands a good local market share in juices.
- Capacity has increased to multiple metric tons per day and expanding.
- Has onboard well-trained staff in food processing.
- Impacts over 5,000 smallholder farmers households in Neno, Mangochi, Salima and Kasungu.
- Serves a network of over 200 retail outlets throughout Malawi.
- Has commenced exports to Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, RSA as well as the UK, USA and Japan.

We work with over 1,440 baobab collectors in Neno and more than 5,000 smallholder sunflower producers across Lilongwe, Kasungu, and Neno, enabling them to generate income from the sale of raw products. Our operations drive job creation, employing over 45 permanent staff, 20+ seasonal workers, and 30+ casual laborers.
Beyond economic empowerment, we support communities in managing and protecting baobab forests, promoting environmental preservation, and preventing degradation. Our products, rich in natural nutrients, also contribute to better health and nutrition for both our grower communities and consumers.
